Every Runner a Hero

Where I come from, everyone is a hero.

People use their talents to rally a nation.

People choose to be cheerful rather than morose.
Edu (in white singlet) laughs off the hardship of cleaning house,
mourning the death of a toenail chipped off by fallen furniture,
never letting discomfort mar a long run leading to his dream Subic marathon.

Where Erick and Edu come from, residents are heroes of their personal struggles.
We can't all be like Ironman Fred, Team Hardcore or Triathlete/Army man Rayzon,
but we can all become Rescue Runners.
On Saturday, let us all be Heroes.

See you on Saturday!

Hey Sam, yeah I do hope to see you there. Kaso, baka drop by lang ako doon early to donate. As much I wanted to run this, I am already registered weeks back to do the Corregidor Aquathon. On that Saturday, I will try to be a hero (kuno) to aqua newbies Ellen, Raff, Roselle and Glen, kahit sa totoo lang mas magaling pa sila sa akin. Hehe. But I am dedicating my race to our friends affected by the typhoon. I pray there will be a deluge of runners doing the Rescue Run.

Hi Jonel. Kudos to you and your group for initiating TKO 250. People who use their strength and skills to help others are truly admirable. I will spread the word about your second collection during the KOTR. More power to your group. :-)

Great post. Inspires us all even more to find more ways to help out through our love for running. Too bad you can't make it to Rescue Run, Rico. Good luck at Corregidor!

Thanks Jaymie! I will try to drop by before the race to donate, and I promise not to do 'pasyal pace' at Corregidor Aquathlon in solidarity with our countrymen affected by Ondoy.

As usual, a very moving post, or better yet, photo essay. I'll be out of town for work, but I'll be rooting for all the runners who will be taking part in this very noble cause.
