Sheerwill Aquathlon 2nd Leg: 'Level up Na Ito!'

Sheerwill Aquathlon Cup (SWAC)
400m swim - 6.5K run - 400m swim
2nd Leg, Mahogany Villas, Taguig
19 September 2009

Sheerwill: Welcome to the Second Leg of the Sheerwill Aquathlon Cup (SWAC). The SWAC was originally intended to be a one-time simulation race for the upcoming Corregidor Aquathlon, but it grew into a a fun race to encourage beginners to try aquathlon. This second leg, which carries the slogan "Level Up Na Ito!" boasts of a colorful mix of aquathlon newbies and intermediates.

Before I proceed in introducing the participants, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my sponsors, Oreo and RUNNR.

We have international participants from Kenya and Korea...

...Jamaica...

...Western Samoa

...as well as Senator Bong Revilla

Lone female participant Ellen leading the stretch

Rolled socks as suggested by Jonas
(Jonas: Hoy, bigyan ninyo ako ng royalty/suggestion fee everytime you do that!)

The Magic 9 prior to the mass swim start: all smiles pa sila

There, they go....Doc T, Ian and Jonas, Ellen with swim cap

Ziggy displaying the form that can possibly spell victory in the Sheerwill Aquathlon Cup

Ian second of out the water

Jonas: Wala akong paki kung sino man ang Best in Swimwear or Best Dive.

Raff: Thanks to Total Immersion swimming, I can afford to relax for a while before I run.

Ellen out of the water. Product of Raff's cascade of Total Immersion lessons.

(Rico: Raff, singilin mo ng tuition fee si Ellen at iba mo pang trainees!)

Her Royal Hotness Ellen in Her Spanking New Speedo suit

Ellen: Nagkakamali si Ian at si James. Ako, ako ang Best in Swimsuit! Di ba, Rico?

Doc Topher: Anong best-best yan? Basta ako Best in Talent.

I play drums and my organ - the keyboards pala.

Are we there yet?

That was the spirit behind Sheerwill Aquathlon.

Mga hinayupak kayo, ang competitive ninyo! Next time, paghahandaan ko kayo!

Gimme a break, last Friday lang akong natutong mag-swim!

Ziggy: Yeah, I am all set to win this. I am the King of the World!

I beat Ian and BongZ in Camaya, and emerged age-group winner. I shall win this again!

Can't wait to lay my hands on that Sheerwill candle holder of a Cup

Pretty Boy endorser Ziggy with his tagline: "The secret to winning is Pocari Sweat."

Hehe ;-)

Ayan, ayos na singlet ko :-)

Pero mukhang toasted na naman ako nito. Nasan ang glutathione!?

(Rico: Hanep sa porma, parang Kenyan Runner)

Hah! Wag ninyo ako i-small-in.

I am a runner, and I can outrun most of you!

This is how you ought to run: light and bubbly like Cali shandy!

Jonas: Raff, di na uso ang Cali. I drink Vitwater, you know.

...Harhar...

Doc T: Nabanggit sa akin ni Succulence Unleashed Vicky minsan that the proper running form daw is : chest out, stomach in, butt out. Oks na ba ito, Vicky?

Ano ba itong nasalihan ko? Napasubo yata ako. Grabe init.

Happiness is completing your first aquathlon.

Rico: Why, o why, did I forget my sunglasses. Naniningkit na mata ko sa init.

Rico: Konti na lang tapsilog breakfast na. Ang init! Can't wait to dip in the pool!

Argo about to complete his run.

Yehey!

Ziggy: I won, I won!

Ian: Maghintay ka lang Ziggy. Magtutuos tayong muli!

Ang hirap yatang maging running photographer and race participant noh!

Relaxed dip in the pool and impromptu swim lessons/clinic after hearty breakfast.

The participants would like to thank Lead Marshall Carina, marshall/ assistant photographer Pepsi, and our gracious host James

Carina: Promise, next leg I will join as race participant.

Because photographer Pepsi deserves to be photographed!
Pepsi: Just wait until my legs heal, I shall make waves in the pool and race you on the roads!

James: Glad you like my playground

Official Race Results:

 1. Zig = 55 mins
 2. Ian = 1 hour

Feedback from the participants:
(lifted from takbo.ph thread)

Ellen: Thank you, commissioner rico for a job well done. It was an awesome experience...woohoo!!...super thanks to the host, james..yey...It was a great feeling, swimming/running with these 'hybrid monsters" -- zig, ian, jona, james, raff, rico..Special award goes to docT and rodel, for finishing the race as well..future aquathletes!!

Pepsi and carina, magrelay kayo sa 3rd leg...hahaha...thanks again for the support and for being the marshalls.

Raff: wahaha, ang saya ng 2nd leg aquathon..pero ung run part na ata ang worst run ko, as in nahihilo ako after tumakbo dahil sa sobrang init. waaaahh!! umupo na lang muna ako, nagpahinga at uminom ng pocari sweat (thanks ellen sa pocari) after the run before nag-swim ulit. tsk tsk.......congrats and thanks to all!

Ian: Thanks guys! sarap talaga neto!! great experience..parang totohanan without the expensive reg fee. hehe. May free bunch pa and action pics..

Special thanks to Rico, James for putting this together...Argo who was running with his DSLR to take great pics under the sun...Pepsi and Carina for timing and marshalling...

Rico: Fellow aquathletes, that was a Monday morning well-spent. Searing sun, cool pool, beautiful place, good food, great company, meron pang swim lessons - Panalo! :-)

See you at the next leg of SWAC!

Argo: Yes, I finished last. Dinaig ko si Sheerwill.
The next edition should be called The Argonaut's Cup!
Ang sarap pakinggan
The pain and hardships, they were all worth it...
Ahhh, I can feeeel it!

Thanks ziggy. There are so many nice pictures and wonderful moments that I had a hard time encapsulating them in a blog post. This leg is really special - i was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events. I hope we can do a repeat in the same venue - siguro sa finals? Hehe.

A little off topic, Guys... I have a question. Today I had fun with this site:
Rivalspot.com - Ps3 Live Tournaments
They say you can play online Madden game tournaments on any console for cash... had anyone tried that before? Looks like a cool idea...
Are there any other sites where you can play sports games for real moneys? I Googled and found only Bringit.com and Worldgaming.com but it looks these guys don't specialize in sport gamez. Any suggestions?
